For Court’s Sake runs your badminton club night. It picks fair, balanced doubles, keeps the queue honest, and shows everyone who’s on next. Players join by scanning a QR code. Nothing to download.

Set up your club in a minute
Sign up, name your club, add your regulars and share one link in your WhatsApp group. Then start the night and let the board do the rest.
Sound familiar?
Club nights run on goodwill. The peg board, the scrap of paper and the person shouting names all wear thin by nine o’clock.
Who’s on next?
Asked forty times a night. Everyone can see the board on their phone, so nobody has to ask.
I’ve sat out three games.
The queue tracks real waiting time and pauses during breaks, so nobody gets forgotten and nobody jumps it.
Same four again?
Pairs change every game. You play with different partners and against different people, at a level that suits.
How a night works
Set up takes a couple of minutes. After that the organiser presses Start, records who won, and gets on with playing.
Start the night
Open your club, choose how many courts you have, and tick off who’s arrived.
Players scan in
Show the QR code on a tablet or TV. Members pick their name, guests add theirs. No account needed.
Fair games appear
Each free court gets a suggested doubles match with the reasons behind it. Press Start, or swap anyone first.
Results and stats
Tap the winning pair and the score. Stats, streaks and the night’s awards update straight away.
How it keeps it fair
Every possible match is scored on three things, and a handful of rules always apply. The organiser sees the reasons behind every pick, so nothing happens behind anyone’s back.
Waiting and court time
Whoever has waited longest, and had the least time on court tonight, goes first. Breaks don’t count as waiting, but you keep the wait you’d already built up.
Even teams
It tries every way of pairing the four players and picks the closest match. Ratings start from the organiser’s own judgement and only shift gradually as results come in.
Partner variety
It avoids putting you with last game’s partner and spreads opponents around, so you’re not stuck with the same three people all night.
Rules it always follows
- Nobody gets left behind. Wait 25 minutes, or get passed over twice, and you’re in the next game.
- Proper games. It suggests men’s, women’s or mixed doubles, never two men against a man and a woman, unless someone has waited too long.
- A break never costs your place. Your waiting time pauses and picks up again when you’re back.
- No double booking. Every match is checked before it starts, so nobody ends up on two courts.
- Same situation, same pick. Close calls are settled the same way every time, so the queue can’t be gamed.
- The organiser has the final say. Swap anyone before pressing Start. Every change is logged.
Both sides of the net
Organisers get a calm, fair way to run the night. Players get their status, their games and their stats in their pocket.

What it costs
FreeWhile we test with clubs, everything is free. There’s no card to enter and nothing to install.
- Unlimited players and club nights
- Up to four courts per night
- Organisers and co-organisers included
Do players need to download anything?
No. It runs in the phone’s web browser. Players scan the QR code or type the six-letter code, pick their name and they’re in. Only organisers create an account.
What if the organiser picks a different match?
Suggestions are only suggestions. The organiser can swap pairs, replace a player, try another suggestion or pick four players by hand. Nothing starts until they press Start.
How does it decide what’s fair?
It weighs how long each person has waited, how much court time they’ve had, how even the two teams are, and who they’ve already played with tonight. Breaks pause your waiting time, and anyone who has waited too long gets picked next.
We have two Daves. Will their stats get mixed up?
No. Each player on the club list is a separate record, so add them as “Dave R” and “Dave K”. Stats follow the player, not the name, so renaming someone keeps their history.
Who can see our club’s data?
Only your club’s organisers can change anything. Players see the board and stats for the night they’ve joined. Each club’s data is kept completely separate from every other club’s.
How do I get in touch?
Email hello@forcourtsake.com with questions, ideas or anything that went wrong on a club night. If it’s about a specific night, include the time and court number so we can look it up.
Does it work for other sports?
Right now it’s built for badminton doubles, with badminton scoring checked on every result. We’d like to bring it to other court sports later.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
It needs a connection to stay in sync between phones. Mobile data is fine. If the signal drops, the board shows the last update and actions pause until it reconnects.
For court’s sake, ditch the peg board.
